A Classic South Tyrolean Merlot – Powerful and Elegant
The Merlot grape variety has been cultivated in Margreid and Auer in South Tyrol for over 120 years. The region's sandy, stony, and calcareous soils provide ideal conditions for its growth.
The Merlot stands out with its clear, dark cherry-red color. On the nose, it reveals subtle aromas of berries, fruit, and spicy notes.
On the palate, the wine offers a medium-bodied structure, well-built with spicy, fruity, and juicy flavors. It pairs excellently with pasta dishes, poultry, white meats, lamb, game, wildfowl, and aged cheese.
The wine reaches its optimal drinking maturity after about 8 years, but continues to develop its full depth and complexity after up to 15 years of aging.
