The FÓRRA Manzoni Bianco is an exceptional white wine made from the rare Manzoni Bianco grape variety – a cross between Riesling and Pinot Blanc developed in the 1930s by Professor Luigi Manzoni. The grapes for this extraordinary wine grow in the Paradies and Buchholz vineyards in Margreid, at an altitude of 350 to 450 metres. These unique vineyards, characterised by sandy dolomite-limestone soil, provide ideal conditions for remarkable minerality and finesse.
In the glass, the FÓRRA Manzoni Bianco reveals a clear, intense golden-yellow colour, promising elegance and depth at first sight. On the nose, it unfolds an expressive bouquet with aromas of quince, mirabelle plum and pear, accented by fine notes of flint and subtle spiciness. On the palate, the wine shows a powerful and concentrated character, with a structured, fresh, and slightly spicy texture. Its harmonious dryness lends it a precise and lingering finish.
This white wine is aged in large oak barrels, where it matures on its lees for approximately nine months. The careful ten-day maceration process significantly contributes to its complexity and depth, enabling the FÓRRA Manzoni Bianco to achieve an impressive balance between freshness and richness.
It pairs perfectly with fish dishes, seafood, shellfish, as well as poultry and light meat dishes. The wine reaches its optimal drinking maturity after around 2 to 8 years, offering a fascinating tasting experience both young and aged.
