An Elegant Pinot Grigio from South Tyrol – Fresh and Full-bodied
Pinot Grigio, also known as Grauburgunder or Pinot Gris, is one of the most widely cultivated white grape varieties in South Tyrol. On the stony, sandy, and calcareous soils of the Margreid and Salurn region, it develops its characteristic freshness and minerality. Certain components of the wine are aged on whole grapes, adding a unique texture.
The wine appears with a bright, clear straw-yellow color with a reddish shimmer. On the nose, it reveals a subtle aroma with fruity notes of peach and melon, accompanied by exotic spices and mineral undertones.
On the palate, the Pinot Grigio presents a medium-bodied, full structure. It is fruity-spicy, fresh, and dry – ideal for various dining occasions. Pairs excellently with appetizers, pâtés and terrines, fish, shellfish, white meats, poultry, and mushroom dishes.
The wine is aged in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, with maturation on fine lees and partially on gross lees for about four months.
This Pinot Grigio reaches its optimal drinking maturity after approximately 1 year, but can continue to develop depth and complexity for up to 2 years.
