A Classic Merlot from South Tyrol – Elegant and Versatile

Merlot has a long tradition in South Tyrol and has been cultivated alongside other Bordeaux varieties for over 120 years. On the sandy, stony, and calcareous soils of the Margreid and Auer region, it finds ideal conditions to develop its fruity and spicy character.

This Merlot presents itself with a clear, dark cherry-red color, making it particularly inviting. Its bouquet reveals subtle aromas characterized by berry, fruity, and spicy notes.

On the palate, the wine impresses with a medium-bodied structure. It is well-built, spicy, fruity, and juicy, making it a versatile companion for various dishes. It pairs excellently with pasta dishes, poultry, white meats, lamb, game, and wildfowl, as well as aged cheese.

The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in stainless steel, followed by aging in concrete tanks and small wooden barrels. A 12-month maceration process adds depth and balance to the wine.

This Merlot reaches its optimal drinking maturity after approximately 2 years and can continue to develop for up to 5 years, gaining full depth and complexity.
