A Premium Chardonnay from South Tyrol – Complex and Elegant
The Löwengang Chardonnay reflects decades of experience and tradition in South Tyrol. Cultivated on the stony, sandy, and calcareous soils of Alois Lageder's winery in Margreid, it thrives in the best locations, emphasizing its elegance and complexity.
This Chardonnay showcases a bright, clear golden-yellow color, leaving a striking impression. The pronounced bouquet reveals fruity notes of pear, apricot, and peach, complemented by hints of fresh butter, floral nuances, and subtle roasted aromas.
On the palate, the wine offers a powerful structure marked by harmony and complexity. Mineral-fruity and salty accents provide additional refinement.
This Chardonnay pairs perfectly with fish dishes, shellfish, crustaceans, as well as white meats and poultry.
It undergoes spontaneous fermentation in barriques and large wooden barrels, followed by aging on the gross lees and subsequent bottle maturation, which add depth and balance.
The optimal drinking maturity of this Chardonnay is reached after about 3 years and it can continue to develop for up to 15 years, gaining full complexity and richness.
